About

Based in Orleans, Cape Cod, Checkpoint East Music Studio officially opened in January 2021, quite a while after its sister business Trove Art Gallery & Boutique opened upstairs in August 2019. “Dempsey” Clarke Doody founded & owns both businesses under his parent company Oliver Inc. The goal is to record/edit/mix/produce/engineer music & video while providing a space for editing & training services while always assuring everyone checks their ego at the door. Checkpoint East is a no ego zone, and it always will be. No frills here, but there is good equipment & good vibes. Inspired by the indie rock basement studios I grew up playing & practicing in.
